Family Reunion
Posted by Timothy
Q. What happens when Grandparents, Uncles, and an Aunt all fly down to visit us at the same time?
A. Family Reunion!
Q. What was special about this reunion?
A. We had not even seen most of them for a couple of years.
Q. What did we do during our family reunion?
A.(short) A lot.
A.(long) The first full day, we spent with just our grandparents.
We don't see them very often, so this was a good time to get to know them better. We were even able to get a short video interview with our grandfather concerning his early life.
Later on we were able to spend time with our other relatives, whom we see even less often.

Father-Daughter Retreat '08
Posted by Gabrielle
Last weekend, June 7th, we three girls and Daddy had the privilege of attending a Father-Daughter retreat hosted by our church.
We began the day with tea at the Old English Tea Room and a talk about "The Twelve Pillars of Biblical Womanhood"
Afterwards we went to the Browns for Father-Daughter games, High Tea and the rest of the "Twelve Pillars of Biblical Womanhood" talk.
We enjoyed this day out with our father!

Memorial Day 2008
Posted by Gabrielle
This was our second memorial day picnic at the Brown's farm. In preparation for the day we were working on matching colonial dresses for we girls and ...
It is wonderful to have a day set aside to honor the veterans of WW2 who so willingly risked their lives for our freedom. We listened to speeches by several of the veterans recounting some of their experiences and lessons learned.
Also, there was an interview conducted by Scott Brown, one of the elders of our church, Doug Philips of Vision Forum and three of the Iwo Jima veterans, one being Mr. Brown's father, Bill Brown. All three had wonderful stories and experiences to share.

And we look forward to many more wonderful days of remembrance in the years to come!

Elliot's 9th Birthday!
Posted by Gabrielle
Yes, that's right. Elliot is nine already! We celebrated his birthday yesterday evening with a special Mexican dinner and dessert.
We love you Elliot and pray that you may have many more fruitful years in God's service!

Timothy's Baptism!
Posted by Gabrielle
This Sunday was a bit overcast as we walked down to the lake for Timothy's baptism. Our dear friends, the Claytons came to join us for this wonderful time! And, as with Arianne and me, Daddy baptized him.
And Timothy comes up out of the water.
And, after every baptism we sing. This time we sang a beautiful hymn for the occasion:

There is a fountain filled with blood
Drawn from Immanuel's veins;
And sinners, plunged beneath that flood,
Lose all their guilty stains:
Lose all their guilty stains,
Lose all their guilty stains;
And sinners, plunged beneath that flood,
Lose all their guilty stains.
